We love to create fictional universes, custom settings and delve into detailed worldbuilding. We have done this for years, mainly for our homebrew campaigns and settings, but also professionally.
Leonardo had the opportunity of writing commercial intellectual properties used in the tabletop games industry. He’s was the creative director and lead writer for the Mysthea Universe, a trilogy of board games that raised more than 1 million dollars on Kickstarter and has been adapted to a tabletop RPG developed my UFO Press: Shattered City. Leonardo’s writing, worldbuilding and creative direction was crucial in defining the unique feel of the world.
Apart from the commercial endeavors, we have some examples of our writing in our worldbuilding blog and samples in Italian available on demand. We write both in English and Italian depending on your market requirements.
Original Setting Development
We can develop with you an original setting for your project, be it a tabletop RPG, an expansion module, a board game or anything tabletop related.
We’ll give you two documents detailing your original setting: the first one describes all the world’s rules and key characteristics, this document is an overview of the whole universe and serves as a “project reference” that you can share with artists, writers and anyone that needs to create more content based on this universe, ensuring that they have a strong guideline that ensures consistency across your products.
The second one will be a document detailing all the aspects of the universe that you need: lore, cosmology, factions, history, magical systems, etc. This document will be defined be the requirements that we are going to agree upon.
Creating a new cohesive and original universe is a complex process, the level of detail required will be defined together during the brief ensuring that you get exactly what you need.
Creative Writing
We can easily build upon existing settings and intellectual properties, coming up with novel ideas and expanding IPs in new directions while ensuring that there are no inconsistencies with the universe existing rules and backstories.

We believe that creativity is not a lucky spark of intuition that just happen, but a methodical process of research, creation and iteration. Variations of this workflow are adopted in all creative industries and allows us to ensure meaningful and high quality work no matter what’s the client brief.
You’ll be an integral part of this process, starting with the brief were all the details of what you need get shared with us along with your expectations, ensuring that the final product is exactly what you need. During creation we always share drafts getting you involved during agreed milestones, so that you’ll always have an eye on the process. This way we can confirm with you that it’s going in the intended direction.
Lastly, we can also tackle the complexity of writing an original setting for board games, were there is the additional issue of ensuring that all game components and rules makes sense with the universe.
All our work is conscious of diversity and sensible topics and we always strive to write things that make people happy, however we always advise to also budget in your project a sensitivity editor before publishing. We can help you with that if you don’t know where to begin.

Our rates varies greatly depending on the scope of the project, it’s complexity and the amount of original work needed. We can give an exact estimate only once we understand what you require.
